United Way Ltd is limited Liability company established in 2013, Company Registration No : CPR/2013/117226 ,private owned Kenyan company operating from its heads quarters based in Nairobi. UWL has acquired majority shares in Magadi Solar Ltd(MSL), a renewable energy company with primary specialization in SOLAR ENERGY projects in Kenya MSL has been developing few key SOLAR projects in Kajiado County in Kenya and has been doing various feasibility studies in various counties with in Kenya. MSL has been engaging with top technology providers to get best technology , cost effective power plants for sustainable corporate growth ,Employment creation and contribute considerable GDP contributions to Kenya.
Present Project Development
Developing 40 MW SOLAR power project with high end technology at Magadi ,Kajiado county with a aim of completing in 2023 -2024 upon signing a bankable PPA and getting GoK support letter. The project has obtained all relevant approvals and studies has been conducted as per local regulations, Ministry of Energy ,EPRA and KPlc guidelines . The project is located in Kajiado countyr which will bring major Economic and social development in Magadi area which is 120KM from JKIA -Nairobi airport .
Employment and Social Welfare
MSL has committed to bring down carbon emissions through green energy technologies and a least cost power development in sub-Saharan Africa The upcoming project will directly employ over 500 local workforce in various categories including engineers, technicians, artesians, plumbers, electricians, casual labors and others Due to enhanced economic activity around the area there will be 2000 plus indirect employment opportunities will be created which will raise the living standards of all those citizens The project will bring greater economic boom to Kenyan economy and substantial contribution to its GDP. MSL has committed to create social welfare projects like creating adequate road networks, street lighting, borehole ,primary school and clinics MSL has further committed to do a pilot program of Water Conservation research centre in Magadi and shall spread to rest of neighboring counties.
