ONPL is renewable energy company with primary specialization in WIND ENERGY projects in Kenya. ONPL has been developing few key wind projects in Kajiado Counties in Kenya and has been doing various feasibility studies in various wind potential counties in Kenya. ONPL has been engaging with top technology providers to get best technology , cost effective power plants for sustainable corporate growth ,Employment creation and contribute considerable GDP contributions to Kenya.
Present Project Development
Developing 30 MW wind power project with high end technology at Corner Baridi area ,Kajiado county with a aim of completing in 2023 -2024 upon signing a bankable PPA and getting GoK support letter. The project has obtained 10MW PPA ,which is being upgraded to 30MW .All relevant approvals and studies has been conducted as per local regulations, Ministry of Energy ,EPRA and KPlc guidelines. The project is located in Kajiado county which will bring major Economic and social development in Corner baridi and kajiado area which is 50KM from JKIA Nairobi airport .
Employment and Social Welfare
ONPL has committed to bring down carbon emissions through green energy technologies and a least cost power development in sub-Saharan Africa The upcoming project will directly employ over 400 local workforce in various categories including engineers, technicians, artesians, plumbers, electricians, casual labors and others Due to enhanced economic activity around the area there will be 1000 plus indirect employment opportunities will be created which will raise the living standards of all those citizens The project will bring greater economic boom to Kenyan economy and substantial contribution to its GDP.
