East African Contractors Ltd is limited Liability company established in 2010, Company Registration No CPR/2010/17776 ,private owned Kenyan company operating from its heads quarters based in Nairobi. BEL is Independent Power Producer (IPP) renewable energy company with primary specialization in WIND ENERGY projects in Kenya and East Africa BEL has been developing few key wind projects in MERU / ISIOLO ,Homabay, Kericho and in Kajiado Counties in Kenya and has been doing various feasibility studies in Uganda, Tanzania ,Rwanda ,Burundi and in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) BEL has been engaging with top technology providers to get best technology , cost effective power plants for sustainable corporate growth ,Employment creation and contribute considerable GDP contributions to Kenya and rest of East & Central African nations
Present Project Development
Developing 100 MW with 40 MW phase1 & 60MW phase 2 wind power project with high end technology at Meru / Isiolo border with a aim of completing phase 1 in 2023 with a commercial Operation Date of 2024 December upon signing a bankable PPA and getting GoK support letter. The project has obtained all relevant approvals and studies has been conducted as per local regulations, Ministry of Energy ,EPRA and KPlc guidelines . The project is located in meru and Isiolo county border which will bring major Economic and social development in Ntumburi area which is 13KM from Isiolo airport and 15KM from meru –Isiolo junction.

Employment and Social Welfare
BEL has committed to bring down carbon emissions through green energy technologies and a least cost power development in sub-Saharan Africa The upcoming project will directly employ over 1000 local workforce in various categories including engineers, technicians, artesians, plumbers, electricians, casual labors and others Due to enhanced economic activity around the area there will be 5000 plus indirect employment opportunities will be created which will raise the living standards of all those citizens The project will bring greater economic boom to Kenyan economy and substantial contribution to its GDP. BEL has committed to create social welfare projects like creating adequate road networks, street lighting, borehole ,primary school and clinics BEL has further committed to do a pilot program of MID DAY MEALS in one of villages in Natumburi and shall spread to rest of neighboring Meru / isiolo counties
